The first regatta BAIKAL Sailing Week 2017
The first open sailing regatta on Baikal – Baikal Sailing Week 2017 – was arrenged, seems to us, successfully. Participants from different parts of Russia and CIS gathered on the regatta.
After races all departed with mild sadness about finishing of so interesting journey. And even gathered in Irkutsk for afterpaty, not wanting to let theese warm and bright emotions go.
Baikal this year was very welcoming and hospitable. Sunny weather and mild stable wind were for all days of the regatta. Even the water was not so cold as usual at Baikal.
Route regatta BSW:
Irkutsk – Bay Shchel – Bolshoe Goloustnoe – Peschanaya Bay – Zagli Bay – Ogoi Island – Radosti Bay – MRS
In total, 7 races were held, including 6 short races, lasting not more than 3 hours, and one long route, which for one of the boat was prove to be a serious test for strength, lasting 26 hours.
